One of the priorities of the General Economic, Commercial and Labour Affairs department is to increase the number of international and domestic tourists. The county stands to benefit greatly from the sector owing to the presence of a wide range of attractions including Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks.

The latest figures recorded show that non-resident tourists outnumber local tourists at 114,923 and 42,856 respectively. One possible intervention is to carry out local and in-country mobilisation to fully exploit the domestic tourism potential.
