Enrolment at Public Vocational Training Centres in Taita-Taveta

One of the Education and Training sector priorities is to increase enrolment in Vocational Training Centres. According to the Taita Taveta CIDP 2018-2022, this is to be achieved through rebranding of vocational training, capitation grants, bursaries, infrastructure improvement, employment of instructors, expansion of courses, as well as increasing examination centres. All this is to be realised by utilising a three-pronged approach of establishing, expanding and equipping of Vocational Training Centres.

Currently, the number of Vocational Training Institutions across the county stands at 24, with the number of enrolled boys being more than double that of girls, at 1580 and 718 respectively.
